CLARENCE V. LEWIS

Grave marker for Clarence V. Lewis in Plot: 1330 of the Fort Donelson National Cemetery, Dover (Stewart), Tennessee.

Clarence enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Private \in Cleveland, OH and was assigned to Hq 2nd of the 508h PIR.

He gradated from jump school with the regiment in March 1943 and was shipped to the European Theater in December of that year.

Pvt Lewis jumped into Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944, and was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for his participation in Normandy assault.

In October 1946, then a Corporal, Clarence re-enlisted and saw additional combat duty in Korea.
