EARL F. LEWIS
8 Serving with 82nd In Berlin

 Eight Shreveport soldiers are serving with the 82nd Airborne (All-American) division which Is occupying Berlin.
   These are: SSgt. William H. Spurlock, 1056 Prospect avenue; SSgt. Edward M. Jolly, 1048 Dove street; Pfc. Morris R. Brown, 2800 West Caperton street; Pfc. Vincent L. Matussa, 1106 Fannin street; Pvt. Ira Bernle Hartgrove, 1923 Park avenue; Pvt. Opal O. Smith, 121 East 75th street; Sgt. Walter Joseph Earl Wright, Box 965 R.F.D., and Pfc. Earl F. Lewis, 423 Unadllla street .

Grave marker for Earl F. Lewis in Section 409, Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, Houston (Harris county), Texas.

Earl registered for the draft ca. 1944 and was inducted into the Army at Camp Beauregard, LA on 15 June 1944

Pfc Lewis was transferred from the 505th PIR to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR on 10 October 1945.  He was then transferred to Company E on 24 October.
