Grave marker for Ernest C. Liberty in Section 06, Site 201, Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, West Hopkinsville (Christian county), Kentucky.

Ernest enlisted in the Army on 23 April 1953 and following basic training and jump school was assigned to the 508th ARCT.  He participated in Operation Gyroscope as the 508th made a mass deployment to Beppu, Japan and then returned to Fort Campbell, KY..

Following multiple re-enlistments and service in Korea and Vietnam. Following his retirement on 30 June 1974, SFC Liberty settled down in Hopkinsville, KY which is just 20 miles from Fort Campbell.
