Om 8 March 1945, Pvt Lopez was transferred from the 11th Reinforcement Depot to Company C, 508th PIR.

He was promoted to Pfc on 1 August 1945.

On 13 December 1945, Pfc Lopez was set on Detached Duty to the 6880th Resident Staff Detachment, APO 413, Manchester, England per the order of  Hq Command USFET.

Whether Jose returned to the regiment is unknown as available Morning Reports end with December 1945.
