On October 16, 2004, LAWRENCE E. LORFING, of Catonsville; beloved husband of Mary Jane Lorfing; devoted father of Michael L. Lorfing and Cathy Bright; loving grandfather of Julie Ann Bright.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
   Family will receive friends Monday 2 to 5 P.M. at HARRY H. WITZKE'S FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4112 Old Columbia k., Ellicott City.  A Funeral Service will be private.  Entombment Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Donations may be made to St. Agnes Hospice.

Lawrence enlist in the Army on 1 August 1943 and was transferred to Company A, 508th PIR.

Pfc Lorfing was listed as slightly injured in action on 1 February 1945 and was evacuated to a field hospital.  He rejoined the company on 31 March 1945.

Lawrence's military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations
