RUSSELL A. LUDEMANN

Grave marker for Russell A. Ludemann in Plot: Q, 0, 4102 of the Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale (Suffolk County), New York.

Russell enlisted at New York city, NY on February 18, 1942.  He may have been initially assigned to an infantry unit and later volunteered for parachutist duty.  Within a year's time he was assigned to Col G of the 508th PIR

He participated in the airborne assault on Normandy, D-0Day, June 6, 1944 and was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device to be worn on his European-Middle Eastern-Africa (EAME) campaign ribbon.
