MILITARY POLICEMEN Friday ended the film career of Wesley Howard Lundgren, New York singer who resembles Frank Sinatra. He was arrested in Hollywood as an army deserter on a set at M-G-M studios where he was placed under contract three months ago under the name of Wesley Howard.

LOS ANGELES- Feb. 25· Wesley .Howard .Lundgren, young
singer signed by a motion picture
studio (M-G-M) three months ago from a New York
nightclub; was arrested on a movie Set today by Army officials who charged him with · being absent without leave.
The ·Provost Marshal's office here
declared Lundgren had been absent without leave for· ten months from Camp .McCall,
N.C.

county), Minnesota.
Wesley registered for the draft in
Los Angeles, CA on 30 June 1942 and was inducted
into the Army in that city on 5 October 1942.
Pvt Lundgren was AWOL and returned to
duty on 19 April 1943. As a consequence, he
was transferred from Hq 2nd to Company D.
He went AWOL again on 8 May 1943.This
time he was transferred to the 541st PIR, also
located at Camp Mackall, NC.
His final escapade must have occurred
immediately following this last transfer. |
