GERALD J. LUNGER

Grave marker for Gerald J. Lunger in Elan Memorial Cemetery, Lime Ridge (Columbia county), Pennsylvania.

Gerald enlisted in the Army at Shelbyville, IN ca. 1943 and was assigned to Hq 1st, 508 PIR.

Pvt Lunger was appointed to the rank of Pfc on 15 November 1943 and was elevated to Tec/5 on 18 December 1943.

He was promoted to Tec 4 on 23 January 1945.

On 1 April 1945 T4 Lunger was transferred to Company B.

SSgt Lunger re-enlisted on 11 October 1945.

His military decorations include the Bronze service Arrowhead device as well as the Combat Infantryman badge for action during the Normandy, France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944.
