A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for Stanley L. Lusnia, 83, who died Monday, October 25, 2004, after a long illness. Private burial will follow. Recitation of the rosary was Thursday evening at Anker-Lucier Mortuary.

Born June 26, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, Stanley served in World War II from 1940 to 1945. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and took part in the Battle of the Bulge. Having trained with the army in California, he returned to this state after the war attending Santa Rosa Junior College before moving to Branscomb.

He is remembered for his work in the Branscomb Athletic Club and with the A.C. Baseball team.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: a daughter, Kathleen Robinson of Portland, Oregon; and two sons, Albert Lusnia of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Paul Lusnia of Santa Rosa. There are four grandchildren.
