STANLEY L. LUSNIA |
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
today at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for Stanley L.
Lusnia, 83, who died Monday, October 25, 2004, after a long
illness. Private burial will follow. Recitation of the rosary
was Thursday evening at Anker-Lucier Mortuary.
Born June 26, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, Stanley served in World
War II from 1940 to 1945. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd
Airborne and took part in the Battle of the Bulge. Having
trained with the army in California, he returned to this state
after the war attending Santa Rosa Junior College before moving
to Branscomb.
He met his wife, Geraldine, in Laytonville where she was
teaching school. They were married at St. Anthony's Church in
1962. Training as a psychiatric tech at Mendocino State
Hospital, Stanley was employed there until it closed and then
went to work for Mendocino County. He retired in 1982.
He is remembered for his work in the Branscomb Athletic Club and
with the A.C. Baseball team.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: a
daughter, Kathleen Robinson of Portland, Oregon; and two sons,
Albert Lusnia of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Paul Lusnia of
Santa Rosa. There are four grandchildren.
