ROBERT G. MANGERS
Robert Mangers

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the First Congregational Church for Robert G. Mangers of Eugene, who died Sept. 25 of age-related causes. He was 91.

He was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Portland to James and Evelyn Mangers. He married Betty Lesher in 1949. She died in 1986. He married Pat Brooks in 1989.

He attended Los Angeles City College, graduated from Oregon State University in 1949 with a degree in engineering and did post-graduate studies in education at Oregon State.

He served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Army Airborne in World War II and was a P.O.W.

He taught industrial arts at Roosevelt Middle School, Monroe Middle School and in Cottage Grove and Philomath. He also taught science and math.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Holly Mangers Berkowitz of Iowa City, Iowa, and Laurelee Mangers and Heather Jackson, both of Eugene; a stepson, Tim Brooks of Harrisburg; a stepdaughter, Laurie Brooks-Headley of Eugene; and six grandchildren.
