Grave marker for Ira F. and Frances L. Mayhle in Plot A
57 of the Braddock Cemetery, Graysville (Greene county), Pennsylvania
Ira enlisted in the Army at Pittsburgh, PA on 22 February
1943 and later was assigned to Company H, 508th. He was promoted
to Private First Class on 1 January 1945.
Pfc Mayhle was injured in action on 3 February 1945 and
evacuated to a field hospital. He returned to the company on 19
March 1945.
Pfc Mayhle was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead
device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations.
