Grave marker for Earl D. McConnell in Plot: I, 162 of the Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee (Milwaukee County), Wisconsin

Pvt Earl D. McConnell was a member of the cadre team as the 508th formed at Camp Blanding, Florida in October 1942.  As such he helped train the first incoming members of the regiment.

At some point Earl was transferred to the 505th PIR, perhaps serving as a cadre member there as well.

His service career carried him through three wars, WW-II, Korea and Vietnam.  He ultimately retired as a Sergeant Major.
