Reeves was a member of a cavalry unit in the National Guard
before enlisting in the regular army and becoming a commissioned
officer

2nd Lt Reeves E. McConnell was a Mess Officer in
Service Company in July 1944 before being reassigned to Company
G as the Principal Assistant Personnel Officer.
He was appointed to 1st Lieutenant in September
1944.
In 1945 he took on a new role as Plans &
Training Officer (S-3).
Then, while the regiment was stationed in
Frankfurt Germany Lt McConnell held the position of P.X. Officer |
