HARRY B. MACDONALD

Rev. Philip G. McConville
   MARSHFIELD Rev. Philip Gregory McConville, of Dennis, former Pastor Our Lady of Assumption Church, Green Harbor, died November l3 at the age of 92.
   Born in Portland, Maine, son of the late John P. McConville and Louise (Hanson) McConville. Dear brother of Sr. Alice McConville, religious cenacle, Staten Island, NY, Frances McConville, Staten Island, N.Y. and the late Marie McCormack. Also survived by 2 nieces Ann Parisi, of Fitchburg and Susan Henrickson of Moline, IL. A grandniece and a grandnephew.
   Father McConville graduated from Boston College and was ordained in l943 from St. Johns Seminary in Brighton. He celebrated 65 years of his Ordination in November 2008. Father McConville served in the US Army as a Colonel during the Korean War.
   He will Lie-in-State at Our Lady of The Assumption Church on Monday, November l6, from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Reception will follow in the church hall. Private family interment service will be on Wednesday at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Dennis.

Grave marker for Philip G. McConville.

Philip graduated from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA in 1939. He then enrolled in  St. John's College & Seminary, in nearby Brighton, MA.

Following graduation, Philip took a commission in the Army and served with H&H, 508trh PIR from 1951 to 1953.
