FRANK E. McKEE

Frank E. McKee a 47 year Suffern resident, entered into rest on November 19, 2008, he was 86 years old.

Frank was born November 20, 1921 in Passaic, NJ, the son of the late John and Caroline McKee. He married his loving wife, the late Frances T. McKee for 55 years. He enjoyed his granddaughters, Francesca and Giovanna who bought him much happiness.

Frank was a 1949 graduate of NYU and retired after 37 years at Allied Signa Bendix in Teterboro, NJ. He was a Veteran of the US Army, 82nd Airborne Division serving his country during WWII from 1942 to 1945. Frank was a participant in the D Day Invasion, Battle of the Bulge, earning him the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a long time leader for the Boy Scouts of America, and an active member of the Fromm-Maxwell DeBaum Post 859 in Suffern NY, and a member of the Purple Heart Association.  Frank was an avid conservationist and a life long fisherman. Many of his friends say they met him while fishing. His love for the outdoors was evident in his paintings and carvings.

He is survived by his son Frank D. McKee of New City, NY, daughters, Patricia A. McKee of New York, NY, and Elizabeth Pelella and her husband Dana of Warwick, NY two loving granddaughters, Francesca and Giovanna Pelella, and his sisters, Dorothy Moleson of NJ, and Jean VanBrookhoven of Allendale, NJ sisters-in-law Jean Dombrowski and husband Leon of Monroe, NY, and Helen Shadlowsky of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, he was known to his nieces and nephews as Uncle Buddy, he was a strong family figure and will be missed dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday November 25, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern burial will follow at the Cemetery of the Ascension in Airmont, NY. Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 Pm at the Scarr Funeral Home Inc Route 202 Suffern. In lieu of flowers donations to DAV PO Box 14301 Cincinnati OH., 45250-0301 would be appreciated.
