Grave marker for Edwin C. McLaughlin in Plot Q-097-02 of the City Cemetery, Salmon (Lemhi county), Idaho.

According to the Official US Army Register, 1951, Volume 1, Edwin enlisted in the Army on 29 June 1935.  He was commissioned as a 2nd Lt on 18 February 1938,

1/Lt was in Hq 2nd in Camp Mackall, NC and appeared in the company montage photo taken there ca. April 1943.  Neither his arrival in the 508th nor departure appear in the Morning Reports.
