Grave marker for John R. McNicholas in Rosewood Memorial
Park, Virginia Beach (county of Virginia Beach City), Virginia.
John first enlisted in the Army o/a 10 November 1942 and
was assigned to Company E of the 508th. The regiment went through
jump school as a unit and on 5 March 1943 he was declared as qualified
parachutist.
Pfc McNicholas was awarded the Bronze Service
Arrowhead for his participation in Normandy assault.
He subsequently re-enlisted and served in the Korean
Conflict as well. |
