LOYLE MCREYNOLDS

Death certificate and grave marker photo for Loyle O. McReynolds in the Wortham Cemetery, Wortham (Freestone county), Texas.

Loyle enlisted in the Army at Dallas, TX on 23 November 1940.  At some point he was nominated to attend OCS and earned a commission.

On 26 October 1942 2nd Lt McReynolds was transferred to Company D, 508th PIR.

On 3 July 1944 Lt. McReynolds was wounded in action in Normandy, France.  He was wounded a second time in Belgium on 8 January 1945.

Lt. Reynolds was promoted to the grade of Captain on 9 April 1945.

Hus military decorations include the Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in Normandy assault
