Hulen E. Montgomery, 80, a retired military officer, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at a local hospital.
Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Hulen was born Dec. 24, 1925, to Zettie and Herbert Montgomery in Munday (TX).
He was a pure gentleman and led a colorful life. His adventures and tales cannot be contained in these pages. He touched the lives of so many and he will be forever remembered in the hearts and memories of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Idell Montgomery.
Survivors: Numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Hulen Edward Montgomery was born on Christmas
Eve, 1925 in Munday (Knox county), Texas to Herbert and Zettie
Montgomery.
Hulen registered for the draft in Benjamin (Knox
county), TX on 27 December 1943, three days after his 18th
birthday. He was inducted into the Army on 13 June 1944 at Fort
Sill, OK..
Pvt Montgomery was transferred
from the 51st Reinforcement Battalion to Company B, 508th PIR on
23 April 1945.
Pfc Montgomery was discharged
on 1 May 1946.
Hulen took advantage of the GI
bill and entered Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX in
1947. Following his graduation he re-entered the Army and
was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. |
