  Elijah Moore

   PORT' ARTHUR - Funeral services for Elijah D, Moore, 55,of 801 Rosedale were lo be al 11 a.m. today in the Grammerlˇ-Oberle :!9th Street Funeral Home. Burial was to be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
   Moore died at 12:30 a.m. Monday In the U.S. Public Health Hospital In Galveston. He was a native of Morgan City, La, and had lived In Port Arthurˇ 26i years. He was a Marine Fuelling Service employee.
   Among survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dave Moore; three daughters, Mrs. Joyce Wlstner, Mrs, Madeline Smith and Miss Jeannie Moore, all of Port Arthurˇ; one son, Calvin Moore, Port Arthur,

Although ifficult to see, the inscription reads::

Elijah registered for the draft in Corpus Christi, TX on 16 October 1940 and was inducted into the Army on 24 September 1942.

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations.
