Don F. Murphy, 78, Parklawn
Court, died at 1:12 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at St. Thomas Hospital,
Nashville, of natural causes.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kentucky Veterans
Cemetery-West with the Rev. Nathan C. Brown officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Hughart, Beard and Giles
Funeral Home.
A native of West Chester, Pa., he was born Feb. 16, 1937, the son of the
late Clifford W. and Pauline Huber Murphy.
He was retired military, having served in Vietnam with the special Forces
and was a Silver Star recipient. He was also retired from civil service at
Fort Campbell and was a member of First Christian Church.
He served as a troop leader for Boy Scout Troop 13. He was also a life
member of Special Operations, the Special Forces Association and the 82nd
Airborne Division Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Ringe Murphy; two sons, Daniel Murphy,
Port Royal, Tenn., and Mark Murphy, Hopkinsville; and a sister, Jean Murphy
Laughner, Midwest City, Okla.
