Grave marker application and resulting marker for Edward J. Muzichuck in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Fairmont (Marion county), West Virginia.

Edward enlisted in the Army at Clarksburg, WV on 20 December 1943.  Following basic training and completion of jump school, Pvt Muzichuck was shipped to England.

On 3 October 1944 Pvt Muzichuck was transferred from the 82nd Airborne Division HQ to Service Company, 508th PIR.

His military awards include the Combat Infantryman Badge for action during the campaign, 18 Dec 1944 to 20 Feb 1945, effective 4 Feb 45.

Hospitalized on 17 February 1945, possibly for frostbite, Pvt Muzichuck was transferred to an unknown field hospital.  He was transferred back to the 508th from the 19th Reinforcement Depot on 26 May 1945.

Pvt Muzichuck arrived in New York, NY aboard the SS Queen Mary on 3 January 1946 having sailed from Southampton, England on 28 December 1945.  He was listed as member of Co C, 505th PIR and was probably transferred from the 508th to the next unit leaving.
