NICHOLAS NAGURNE

His military decorations include the Purple Heart* and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for Avellino campaign and Airborne operation 18 Suggest 1943 while a member of the 509th Prcht Inf Bn.

Millionth Meter Installed

R. George Rincliffe, left of Swarthmore, president of Philadelphia Electric Co., shows the Nicholas Nagurne family, of 1180 Vincent st., Philadelphia, the gifts they receive by becoming the company's one millionth customer.  he complete electric kitchen and other appliances are valued at more than $8,000, the company said.  Nagurne is a paratroop veteran of World War II.   He holds the Purple Heart, two presidential unit citations and seven battle stars.

Pennsylvania WWII Veteran Bonus Application submitted by Nicholas Nagurne on 28 January 1950. 

Nicholas enlisted in the Army at Ft George G. Meade, MD on 4 February 1942.

On 3 February 1945 Pvt Nagurne was transferred from the 509th PIR to Co I, 508th PIR.  He was discharged on 3 September 1945 at the Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, PA.
