JAMES S. NARO

Grave marker for James S. Naro in Section 23 Site 724, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, (Lebanon county), Pennsylvania.

 

James registered for the draft in Dunmore , PA on 1 February 1943 and was inducted into the Army at Wilkes Barre, PA on 9 June 1943.,

He married Marie B. Hytovitch in Scranton, PA on 29 February 1944.

James was promoted to Pfc on 27 December 1944.

Pfc Naro was listed  as slightly injured in action on 3 February 1945 but on 9 March 1945 he was able to rejoin the company.

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for =the Holland campaign and Airborne operations

 

On 16 January 1950 James submitted this application for the Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus.  He was credited with 12 months of domestic duty and 19 months of foreign service which permitted a $405 bonus award.
