Grave marker for William H. Neebe in Saint Mary's of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood (Ocean county), New Jersey

William enlisted in the Army at Ft Dix, NJ on 9 October 1941.

His early service career is unknown but on 5 January 1945 Cpl Neebe was transferred from Hq 2nd Advanced Air Depot Area IX to Service Company 508th PIR, then stationed at Camp Sissonne, France.

On 4 February he was transferred to Company H.

Cpl Neebe's military decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge for action during the campaign, 18 December 1944 to 20 February 1945
