PETER C. NOWAKOWSKI

Grave marker for Peter C. Nowakowski and spouse in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Titusville (Brevard county), Florida.

Peter enlisted in the Army on 11 January 1940 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

On October 16, 1942 Special Order 18 written by HQ, First Parachute Infantry Brigade, Fort Benning, GA assigned a group of men as Cadre personnel for the fledgling 508th PIR  SSgt Nowakowski was included and assigned to Company F.

Peter Nowakowski, 89, of Titusville, FL. died in Auburn, AL.

He was a retired Army Paratrooper, long time member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Elks and PNA.

Surviving are his sons: Frank (Joyce), Jerry, and Rusty; 6 grandchildren, David, Cari, Ashley, John-John, Steve, and Judy and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the North Brevard Funeral Home, Titusville.
