CHARLES W. OCHS

Grave marker for Charles W. Ochs and spouse in the Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville (Howard county, Maryland.

Charles enlisted in the Army at Baltimore, MD on 25 May 1942 and was initially assigned to the 551st PIR.

On 14 February 1945 T5 Ochs was transferred to Hq 1st, 508th PIR and then to Service Company two months later. On 18 August 1945 he was transferred to the 513th PIR, probably to be shipped back to the U.S.

T/4 Ochs military decorations include he Purple Heart as well as the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for the Southern France Campaign and Airborne Operations.
