ROBERT W. O’CONNOR


Robert W. O'Connor, 89 of Aloha, transitioned peacefully from this life on Oct. 19, 2012, surrounded by his wife, Ann; his children; and grandchildren. Bob was born Sept. 28, 1923 in Carey, OH to Robert S. and Carrie O'Connor.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of both WWII and Korean Wars, serving in the 82nd Airborne - 508th battalion as one of the first paratroopers to parachute into Normandy France on D-Day in 1944.

Bob is survived by Ann, his wife of 64 years; sister, Carmen Sink of Bellefontaine, Ohio; children, Patrick (Carolyn), Jennifer (Jess Lawrence), Timothy and Stephen (Cathleen); 15 grandchildren, Matthew, Colleen, Melissa, Casey, Andrea, Andrew, Shannon, Jonathan, Curt, Stella, Stephanie, Sean, Samantha, Michael and Julianne; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Benjamin, Brenna and Luna. His son, Michael predeceased him.
