   Cpl Armando Ortiz-Lajara, Company C, died on June 19, 2006 and was interred here in August of that same year.

Armando "Army" Ortiz, 84, of Kennesaw, died Thursday, June 15, 2006. Memorial service, 11am, Monday, June 19, 2006, Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, Chaplain Phil Owens officiating. Burial, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Member of VFW, American Legion, Company C, 508 Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82 Airborne Division in Europe during WWII.

Survivors sons: Joseph, Francisco, Eduardo, Luis, Nicolas Ortiz; daughters, Rosaida Robinson, Maria del Carmen Markovic, Mitzi Scott, Emiliana Crigler; brother: Francisco Ortiz; sisters: Virginia Bakas, Fannie Pedraza; 20 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter, Delores Ortiz.

Visitation, 10-11 a.m., Monday, prior to service at the funeral home.
