HENRY R. PARENT

Grave marker for Henry R Parent in Plot 8A, Site 206 of the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside (Riverside county), California.

Henry, a Massachusetts native, enlisted in the Army at Valparaiso, IN and was assigned to Company E.

Pvt Parent was listed as seriously wounded in action in Holland on 22 September 1944 but was able to rejoin the company on 30 September.

Pfc Parent re-enlisted on 7 October 1945 and remained in the Army until 31 October 1954 with service in Korea as well.  His final grade is unknown.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations.
