LEMUEL B. PARRISH

Grave markers for Lemuel B. Parrish in the Socrum Cemetery, Lakeland (Polk county), Florida.

"Lem" enlisted at Jacksonville, Florida on 13 August 1940 and later volunteered for parachutist duty. 

Sgt Parrish was wounded on 10 October 1944 during Operation Market-Garden in Holland but returned to the unit after a month of hospitalization.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for his participation in Normandy assault.
