RAYMOND PATERACKI

 

Raymond Pateracki registered for the draft in New York City (Bronx county), New York and was inducted into the Army at Fort Jay, Governors Island, NY on 9 June 1942.

Sgt Pateracki was transferred from Hq, The Parachute School, Fort Benning GA, to Hq 1st, 508th PIR on 29 October 1943.

Raymond's military decorations include Combat Infantryman Badge for action during Normandy, France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944 and the bronze service Arrowhead deviceawarded for participation in the Normandy assault

Raymond died in Sacramento, CA, his remains were cremated and the disposition of his ashes is unknown.
