LEO F. PATSCHULL

A story about my life. I was born in Chicago on August 9, 1936. I passed away in Pocatello, Idaho on Thursday, March 14, 2019. My parents, Leo A. and Gertude Patschull passed away in August of 1957 and in December of 1999 respectively.
I attended Tilden Technical High School and graduated in 1954. I was inducted into the Army in 1955, serving in 508 ARCT and 101st Airborne Division. I served in the active reserves and received an honorable discharge in 1962.
In 1957, I married my high school sweetheart, Beverly Harris. Beverly and I became the proud parents of three wonderful sons; Leo Anthony “Tony”, Timothy, and Thomas. Beverly passed away in 1967.
In 1969 I met an exceptional woman, Mary Ellen Liewer, and we married in August of 1970.
In 1971, we decided I needed to finish working on my BBA after having attained a 60 hour business diploma from Northwestern University. We decided to look at Idaho State University among other schools. We fell in love with Idaho and quickly made many friends. After receiving my BBA in 1973 we returned to the Chicago area.
In 1979, with Idaho on our minds, I had an opportunity for a position with INEL which we eagerly accepted. In 1980, I joined El International and worked there until 1990. I began working for JR Simplot Company in 1991.
In 1997, after 27 years of marriage, Mary Ellen passed away. I retired in 2000. In 2004, I met Cathey Coffey and fell in love. She is a wonderfully religious, loving woman. She is active in our church, and always seeks to brighten the lives of many. We married in 2005 and enjoyed working in the Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
My parents, and brothers George and Frank preceded me in death. I leave behind my beloved wife, Cathey; sons, Tony (Sarah), Tim (Tannis) and Tom (Linda); a brother; Edmond as well as many nieces, nephews, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchild.
I have been blessed with many wonderful friends and relatives who have enriched my life. I wish you all long lives, good health and happiness. May God watch over all of you.
My Rosary service and wake will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 5:00 PM at Downard Funeral Home, 241 N. Garfield Ave, Pocatello. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 25th at 2:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Community, St. Anthony’s Chapel, on 7th and Wyeth, Pocatello, Idaho. Military Rites will follow at Mt View Cemetery, section 51 east.
