ELI H. PEREZ

(courtesy of "CRob")

Grave marker for Eli H. Perez in Section 52A, Site 2930 of the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside (Riverside county), California.

Eli's initial place of enlistment is unknown although it was probably in Los Angeles. Pfc Perez re-enlisted at New Castle Army Air Base, DE on 15 December 1945.

Pfc Perez first showed up in 508th records when he was transferred from the Parachute School to company F on 6 October 1943.

He was hospitalized in February 1945 as a non-battle casualty, perhaps due to frostbite, and was subsequently transferred to an unknown hospital unit on 16 May 1945.  He did not return to the regiment.

Pfc Perez's military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for participation in Normandy assault as well as the Bronze Star Medal.
