DELTON PLUNKETT

Grave marker for Delton Plunkett in Corinth National Cemetery, Corinth (Alcorn county), Mississippi.

Funeral services for Delton "Dell" Plunkett, 81, were held at Corinthian Funeral Chapel with burial at Corinth National Cemetery.

Mr. Plunkett died Feb. 25, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 7, 1931.

He was employed with the state of Mississippi Employment Service and was retired Army having been awarded the Purple Heart. Other military honors include the National Defense Service Medal, 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, three Overseas Services Bars, Vietnam Medal, K/60 Device, Korean Services Medal w/five Campaign Stars and Parachutist Badge.

Mr. Plunkett was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Mission.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lennie Pate Plunkett; his brother, Clinton Ray Plunkett; and his sister, Leera May Lindsey. He is survived by his wife, Eva Plunkett of Corinth; his son, Dale Plunkett of Corinth, Texas; his brother, Eldon Plunkett and his sister Thelma Dulany, both of Fulton; and his grandchildren, David and Michael Plunkett.
