WELLINGTON J. PRALL
Wellington J. Prall, 62, town of Canajoharie, died Saturday afternoon in Little Falls Hospital following a short illness.
He was born in the town of Palestine Oct 19, 1914, the son of Jacob and Aurelia Sitterly Prall.
A veteran of World War II, he served with Company C, 508th Parachute Infantry, and received the Purple Heart.
He was employed in the strained foods department of Baker-Beech-Nut and its predecessor companies for over 40 years and was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul’s Church, Mohawk Valley Post No. 32757, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the National Rifle Association, the Country Riders Snowmobile Club and the
Ephrata Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Harry Miller, Fort Plain. Mrs. Homer Jump, Sprakers, Mrs. Arnold Nellis, Palatine Bridge, and Mrs. Melvin Watson, Fort Plain RD, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. by Father Richard Walsh at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Church. The Christian Wake Service will be conducted tonight at 8 o’clock at the Houghtaling Funeral Home. VFW services are planned at 7:30 pm.
Interment will be made in Sts. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service.
