DONAIS L. RANCOURT

Grave marker Donais L. Rancourt in Row 1, grave 84-A, Fort Bragg Main Post Cemetery, Fort Bragg (Cumberland country), NC.

Pfc Donais (aka Donald) Rancourt was transferred from the 101st Airborne Division to company F, 508th PIR on 16 October 1945.

He re-enlisted on 9 November 1945.and 4 days later was place m TDY with the 6903rd Reinforcement Battalion, Le Havre, France for what was probably a re-enlistment bonus furlough in the U.S.

Using the given name o Donald, he and Fiancé Anna Klunk applied fore a marriage license in Arlington, VA. Both were stationed at Fort Myer, VA, He was in Co D, 3rd Inf Regt while she was a  WAC in 7011th ASU, WAC Dept.  This is believed to have been the 7011th Ceremonial Detachment, Army Service Unit which provided honor guards for visiting dignitaries.

.They tied the knot on 5 April 1952 in the Post Chapel, Fort Myer, VA.

On 2 March 1956, the couple, along with 2 infant daughters were aboard Slick Airways Flight 903 when it arrived in New York, NY  from Frankfurt, Germany.
