Grave marker for Richard C. Reardon in

Richard enlisted in the Army at Ft Benjamin Harrison, IN on 20 October 1942 and became a member of Company E, 508th PIR.

On 24 April 1943 Pfc Reardon was promoted to Cpl.  Cpl Reardon was placed on Detached duty with The Citadel Military College of South Carolina,

He returned to Company E on 5 August 1943 only to be transferred to the 541st PIR on 18 August 1943.

It is unclear whether Sgt Reardon saw action in Normandy but he was taken prisoner on 17 September 1944 in Holland.  He was ultimately liberated from Stalag 3C.

His military awards include the Purple Heart.
