WALTER I. RICE
   Walter I. Rice, 86, of Kansas City, KS, passed away February 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
   Mr. Rice graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1949. He was a Army Veteran serving the 508 Airborne during the Korean War.
   He retired from the General Motors Security Department in 1994 after 22 years. He was a member of The Shriners and a Lifetime member of the Argentine American Legion Post 111.
   He is survived by his wife of 65 years Doris Rice of the home, 3 daughters Marsha Pugh of Kansas City, KS, Brenda (Steve) Christine, Donna (Bill) Martel, both of Shawnee, KS, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
   Funeral Service will be 11 AM Saturday. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Cpl Walter I. Rice, 1802 Metropolitan avenue, Kansas City, KS, has qualified as an expert rifleman while serving with the 508th air-borne regimental combat team at Fort Benning, Ga.
