JAMES P. RICHARDSON

   

Birth certificate and Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus Application for James P. Richardson.

James enlisted in the Army at Allentown, PA on 10 June 1942.

On 11 February 1944, Lt Richardson was shipped to the ETO and on 5 April 1944, he was transferred to Company G, 508th PIR as a platoon leader.

1/Lt Richardson was wounded in action on 4 July 1944 in France and again on 2 February 1945.

He returned to the U.S. and was discharged at Fort Dix, NJ on 2 August 1946.

On 19 June 1948 he married Elizabeth A. Harbaugh in Allentown, PA

He was recalled to duty for service in the Korean conflict and attained the rank of Major before being separated again.

He and Elizabeth are both buried in Section A, Site 186A, Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso (El Paso), TX
