LESLIE H. ROBERTS |
LESLIE
H. ROBERTS, 61 or 207 Bimini Dr. E. in Port Richey, died Monday. He
moved here one and a half years ago from Greenfield, Ind. and was a
machine operator for Chrysler Corporation. He is survived by his wife,
Marjorie; one daughter, Carol Halliburton of Clearwater; two brothers,
Fallis and Lee Roberts of Monticello, Ky. and four grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by North Funeral Home in New Port Richey.

Greenfield (Hancock county), Indiana.
Leslie enlisted in the Army at Fort Thomas, KY on 3
November 1942.
In less than two weeks he was transferred to the 78th
Division infantry Division, Camp Butner, NC, which at that time was
designated as a replacement pool division. He apparently was
transferred to the 109th Infantry regiment and was captured in Belgium
on 18 December 1944. He was liberated from Stalag 4B in 1945.

Roberts was one of 5,026 passengers departing Le Havre, France
aboard the USAT Admiral Benson on 5 June 1945 and arrived in New York,
NY On 12 June. |
Leslie
H. Roberts, 61, Port Richey, Florida, passed away Monday at Community
Hospital in New Port Richey. The former Greenfield resident was born
April 8, 1919, in Hussel County, Ky., the son of Willie McGinn and Arnie
Lee Roberts. He retired in 1964 from the career army after 22 years of
service. He served in World War II, where he was a POW In Europe, and in
the Korean conflict. He was also employed at Chrysler in Indianapolis
for 11 years.
He attended Trinity Park United Methodist Church and was a former
member of Hancock Post 119 American Legion in Greenfield.
Surviving are his wife of 11 .years, Marjorie (Reason); Roberts
daughter Carol Halliburton, Florida; step-children Mrs. Ray (Donna)
Merlau, Route 9; Phil Hollenbaugh, Route 8; four grand-children; a
brother, Fallis Roberts; Kentucky; half-brother, Lee, Alvin Hoberts,
Kentucky and Ruth Powell, Kentucky.
He was predeceased by son Ronald Roberts and sister Grace
Andersson.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m., Friday, at Pasco Memorial Mortuary
with Rev. Ross Vandyne officiating. Burial will be at Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at the mortuary.
