Draft record for Hugh K. Rudisill indicates that he was attending the *Lenoir Rhyne College, Hickory Creek, NC.  The record is undated but extrapolating his date of birth from his age of 20 years indicates it may been completed in 1941.  He was later drafted on 23 March 1943.

Following jump school he was transferred to Service Company, 508th PIR on 29 September 1944 and then to Company B a month later.

Pvt Rudisill was wounded in action in Belgium on 7 January 1945 and rejoined his company on 2 February 1945.  He was discharged on 9 January 1946.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart and the Good Conduct Medal.
