DONALD D. RUTHERFORD

RUTHERFORD Don D. 70, St. Francis of Assisi, Wichita, March 26. Survivors include wife Loretta; sons Don and Dan; daughters Donna Collazo, Diane Wohler, Deborah Siroky, Denise Gray and Dorita Guymon; stepbrothers Jim, Charley and Michael Dahlem; stepsister Wanda Garcia.

Donald registered for the draft in El Dorado, KS on 20 July 1942 and was inducted into the Army at Fort Leavenworth, KS on 5 August 1942.

On 21 December 1944, Pvt Rutherford was transferred from the 2nd Airborne Brigade to Company B, 508th PIR.  He was wounded in action on 29 December.

He was promoted to Pfc on 15 January 1945 and on 29 June 1945 he was awarded the Combat Medic Badge

He was discharged on 13 November 1945.
