Members of the group already have completed their basic infantry training, most of them being completed during the late spring or summer at Camp Wolters, Monumental Springs, Texas.
Those successful in passing the rigorous training and selection requirements will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States army reserve.
All are former members of advanced ROTC classes at State College. Since their return to campus early this fall they have been connected with the ASTP engineering unit stationed at the college.

Robert was commissioned 18 April 1944 and completed jump school.

On  3 December 1945, 1st Lt. Sahs was transferred from the 101st Airborne Division to Hq Hq, 508rh PIR.

While stationed in Frankfurt he met and married Marine Corps Sergeant May Elizabeth Krimmel.

He went on to serve during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.

Attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel, he apparently was affected by a reduction in force (RIF) and had to accept a lesser grade of Chief Warrant Officer (CW-4) in order to serve out his pension limits.

He completed his service years while stationed in El Paso at Fort Bliss and remained there after retirement.
