On 29 September 1944 Pvt Samuelsson was transferred from the 82nd Airborne Division to Service Company, 508th PIR.

He was then transferred to Company B on 27 October 1944.

On 31 January 1945 Pfc Samuelsson was listed as injured in action in Belgium and he was transferred to an unnamed field hospital, perhaps the victim of frostbite.  He was subsequently transferred to still another hospital and did not return to the regiment.
