Wisconsin.
William enlisted at Camp
Grant, IL on 1 October 1942 and volunteered for parachutist duty.
He was assigned to Company C, 508th PIR.
Cpl Savage was awarded the
Combat Infantryman Badge for his participation in action during
Normandy, France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944. He was
promoted to Sergeant shortly thereafter. |
