DEMPSEY SAYLOR

Grave marker of Dempsey Saylor in the Lick Branch Baptist Cemetery, Deputy (Jefferson county), Indiana.

Dempsey enlisted in the Army at Louisville, KY on 5 October 1942 joined Company E, 508th PIR.

T/5 Saylor joined the regiment in the jump into Normandy on D-day, y June 1944.  He was listed as missing in action as of 7 June 44 and was then marked as slightly injured in action as of 27 June 1944. Whether the two incidents are connected is unknown.

He was evacuated to the 107th General Hospital facility in France then relocated to  to APO 115 (Moreton-On-Lugg, England)

T/5 Saylor was discharged on 25 November 1945
