RICHARD W. SCHAUBERT

   Richard W. Schaubert, "Bill", age 89, a resident of Plainfield, IL and longtime of Troy, IL, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 26, 1927 in Granite City, IL.
   Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Lorna (nee Schmidt), his loving children, Nancy Meier of Chicago, IL, Bill (Cyndi) Schaubert of Plainfield, IL and Rick (Jeanie) Schaubert of Conroe, TX; his cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Meier, Lorén and William Schaubert, Michaela and Corey Schaubert, Pamela Steward, Elaina Graves, and great-granddaughter, Ava Steward; as well as his nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard F. and Emma Schaubert, and his sisters, Kathryn McClure and Mary Trelc.
   Bill was a proud US Army veteran of World War II, European Theatre and a paratrooper in the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne.
   Bill was a Structural Engineer, Vice-President and Partner at Eason, Thompson and Associates in St. Louis, MO.
   He taught at Washington University, part-time, in the Engineering School evening division for 31 years.
   He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Science, Structural at Washington University, St. Louis, MO.; and was Tau Beta Pi - The Engineering Honor Society. A member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and a former member of the Engineers Club of St. Louis, MO. Bill was a longtime member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, IL. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.
   Memorials may be made to Friedens United Church of Christ, 207 East Center St., Troy, IL 62294
   A memorial service is being planned and will be held at the Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, IL at a later date. Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Plainfield, IL entrusted with arrangements.
