ROBERT F. SCHLESINGER

Schlesinger, Robert  F.

LATHAM --- Robert F. Schlesinger, 77, of Latham, died suddenly Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Albany Medical Center.
   Born in White Plains, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frank and Marie Schlesinger. He was the beloved husband of Barbara H. Schlesinger for the past 49 years.
   Bob was raised in Ashland, N.Y., graduated from Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School in Windham, attended and graduated from Albany Business College and Siena College in Loudonville.
    Bob served in the military as a paratrooper with the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team.
   He was employed as a field sales representative in the pharmaceutical industry for 35 years and retired in January 1995.
   Bob was a Latham resident for 46 years. Since his retirement, Bob was an avid golfer and tennis player. He also helped establish a social group of retired pharmaceutical representatives, physicians and pharmacists, called, "The Repppers." He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham.
   Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his loving children, Robert H. Schlesinger of Natick, Mass., Ellen (Terry) McCoy of Granger, Ind., Marni (Erik) Harris of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Gregory (MaryBeth) Schlesinger of Niskayuna; and his nine cherished grandchildren, Robert Raymond (RobRay) of Beaurains, France, Shane, Kara and Mackenzie of Granger, Ind., Zoe and Ava of Niskayuna, Natalie and Noah of Fort Wayne, and Lily of Natick.
   He was the brother of Richard Schlesinger of Manchester, N.H., and the late Rose Mary Stewart and Thomas Schlesinger.
   He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dolores and Edward Burke of Austin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
   Bob's family would like to thank the staff in the emergency department at Albany Medical Center for the excellent care provided him in his final hours.
   Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Friends are invited and may call Sunday 4-7 p.m. at the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
