LEON C. SCHWEIZER

Grave marker for Leon C. Schweizer and spouse in Section CS, Site 82A, Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa (Passaic county), New Jersey.

Leon enlisted in the Army at Newark, NJ on 23 January 1943.

On 7 August 1943, Pvt Schweizer was transferred from the Parachute School, Fort Benning, GA to Co F, 508th PIR.

He was hospitalized four days later and released to duty on 19 August at which time he was transferred to the Casual Detachment.

On August 20 he was subsequently transferred to Replacement Station 970.

Leon was hospitalized, for reasons unknown, on 11 August 1943 and released on 19 August but was immediately transferred to the Casual Detachment.  On 20 August he was transferred to RS [Replacement Station] #970.
